Dance your way back to the roaring 1920's

Perhaps one of the best known craze dances, it's rhythm and steps instantly make you think of Flappers, the Great Gatsby and Speak Easy.

The Charleston become extremely popular after appearing alongside the song "The Charleston" by James P. Johnson in the Broadway musical 'Run-in Wild' in 1923. It was danced solo and in couples by young women (known as 'Flappers') and young men ('Sheiks') who simply wanted to 'let go' and have fun! Dancing the Charleston came to represent a generation who wanted to shed the stodgy etiquette and moral codes of their parents' and feel free!
